Pic of the Day: Sunset at Camp 2, Everest

After arriving at Camp 2 at 7600m altitude I felt great. The wind had almost dissappeared, te sky was clear and we were camped on a small rock platform overlooking ABC, Noth Col camp, Pumori, Cho Oyu and many other great mountains.

After rehydrating, I opened up the zipper of the tent and waited for this splitsecond where the sun would disappear behind Cho Oyu, 8201m and the 6th highest mountain on earth...

Just a few seconds later the temperature plummeted and I quickly crawled inside, ready for a night in the Death Zone...
