Australian tourists are returning to Indonesia in significant numbers, with September figures up 42.5 percent on last year.
Indonesian government arrivals data also shows Australian tourist arrivals in Bali rose 34 percent (to 781,000) in the first half of 2007, compared to the same time period in 2006.
Indonesia is the sixth most popular destination for Australian travellers and fifth most popular among those who list a holiday as the purpose of their travel.
Indonesia's Minister of Culture and Tourism, Jero Wacik, was delighted with the latest departure figures from Australia.
Mr Wacik said Indonesia offered everything from a Bali beach holiday, to cultural and heritage wonders, fantastic shopping and international class golf courses throughout the country. - Travelpress travel news
