In January, we stayed in Phuket at the Shanti Lodge. This place was amazing.
The food alone in the place was some of the best food we had anywhere in Asia. It was cheap and had a great pool too which was good since it was stinking hot there.
It is a little way out of Patong Beach but that was actually a good thing I thought. Close to temples and the real Thai life which was what we were after anyway.
The owner Kim and all of her staff were great to us and I would highly recommend this place to other travellers. A friend of mine has since stayed in the Shanti Lodge in Bangkok as well and had similar good things to say about that one as well.
